The 1970 Chevy Chevelle
My
son noticed an ad on the bulletin board at Year One he removed the 3x5 card
and when we got home he said dad we have to call about this car I promptly told
he should not remove ads from the board he promptly informed me But I did not
want any one else to buy it. He was a fan of 70 chevelles and wanted
a car of his own so we called ,looked at ,and bought it.
We had the car towed home and started working on it .I knew if i started on this
car i would have to put my belair on hold.First we degreased the engine &
got it drivable.
After some work on the drive train &some more new parts, we spruced up the engine
compartment.
Next
we began a eight month task of filling ,straitening, and smoothing body
panels.
The interior was removed & more new parts were bought at Year One.
Then we started block sanding & priming.
We sanded and primed then applied a sealer coat .
Three coats of midnight Blue later and Three coats of clear We were ready to put
it back together not bad
The first time out to a show we got best of class trophy I
told my son you know we have a good chance here today ,if we are lucky
enough to get a trophy i want you to go up to receive it .He said I sure will
its my car .
Well we also received a plaque award and drove to Woodward Ave Dream
Cruise in Detroit this summer. I get to drive the car on occasion but my son is
the proud owner of his dream car. at 17 that aint bad.
